KULLU HANDLOOM CLUSTER
Major Highlights up to MARCH, 2011

  • 154 SHGs formed, covering 3110 weavers with credit facilitation of Rs 11.00 Lakhs.
  • 28awareness camps organized for 990 stakeholders.
  • Trained 10 designers for use of vegetables dyes and some of the weavers have started using it.
  • 2 Export Procedure training was organized with participation of 115 weavers with the faculty from IIFT, New Delhi. 
  • 5 Exposure visits conducted to Palampur, Dharamsala, Chandigarh, Hyderabad & Varanasi. 215 weavers participated.
  • Two Product catalogue of the cluster has been prepared. 
  • Direct marketing facilities provided to over 310 weavers & indirect marketing facility to over 2446 weavers
  • Total Sales Rs 235.60 Lakhs realized so far. Attended 52 exhibitions.
  • 196 new Designs developed so far [Total 426 designs by 3 designers so far]. No sales realized by the designer.
  • Nearly Rs 15.0 Lakh worth of yarn sold to the local weavers wherein 350 weavers were benefited & 3 cycles completed.
  • Old CFC building has been upgraded and 16 handlooms installed in the work shed with new technology for enhanced production.
    Work shed is having, meeting room, information Center, sales counter, storeroom/ yarn bank, warping machine & finishing/packing room.
  • 2 sales out lets opened at Kullu and Mandi.
  • 350 weavers/SHGs provided Handloom marks free of cost.
  • 100 weavers/master weavers trained in latest weaving, dying and designing techniques
